Irritable Bowel Syndrome/Constipation/Diarrhea

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a non-inflammatory motility disorder of the large bowel that alters bowel habits and causes abdominal pain and distention. IBS is associated with an increased risk of diverticulitis and colon cancer.

The primary symptoms are either painless, urgent diarrhea that occurs after meals, or alternating diarrhea and constipation accompanied by abdominal pain, bloating, flatulence, headache, and fatigue. These can be triggered by stress, diet, emotional factors, hormone levels and medications. Acupuncture and Chinese medicine can offer a safe, effective, natural, and drug-free way to address IBS. This holistic healthcare system looks at the body differently than Western medicine is a garden that needs to be cultivated and maintained in order to grow strong and remain healthy. Good health happens when all of the organs and meridian systems are balanced and working together.
